Over the last couple weeks I have been buying some bits and pieces for some formal events coming up and for the summer too.
With a Journalism awards event coming up with my University, I thought it was perfect time to buy a new dress for it. I scanned ASOS and New Look but couldn’t find anything much so I had a look on Boohoo and came across this Boohoo plus size plunge neck skater dress. I love showing some cleavage and like a dress that doesn’t make my hips look massive so this was perfect for me. I bought it in a size 16 as I wanted it to be a little tight around my waist and chest to accentuate my curves. And it is a little tight but does fit well. I love how it shows off the cleavage and helps smooth out your figure with the material. The length is about knee length which is perfect for me as I don’t like long dresses as I feel it makes my legs look chunky, and obviously I don’t like too short either. The dress also has short sleeves so if you don’t like showing your arms much like me, this one is for you. For £15 it is a bargain! Since summer is coming I have been trying to get some bright colours in my life. Most people know I’m a dark colour lover but not on my nails! I spotted this bright pink colour from Barry M’s Gelly range called Grapefruit. Normally I am not a fan of pinks, but this colour is quite pretty to me. I also bought the clear basecoat/topcoat from Barry M as mine ran out. Together you get a bright and summer pop of colour with a great shine. Both were £3.99
Next I got my hands on a pair of sea green Vans authentics. I already have a black pair that I use for work and whenever I fancy wearing black, but I wanted something with a pop of colour so opted for the sea green pair. They’re pretty comfy, although I wouldn’t wear without socks as they may rub a bit. Normally these are around £47 but Vans were offering a 30% voucher for Vans’ members so I got mine for around £33.
I also bought Rimmel’s Match Perfection concealer in ivory. It has bristles so that when you squeeze the tube the product comes out through the bristles making it quite nice to use on your face and create lines and blending. I tend to use it more as a highlight and use it around my eyes and my forehead and around the lips to brighten my complexion. It matches the skin quite well and lasts a good amount of time. Not bad for £5.99!
Thats it for now. Been trying to budget lately which is pretty hard for me but I couldn’t resists these few things!
